The temple is a famous temple in South India. Uthralikkavu Pooram to Shri Ruthira Mahakalikav Temple in Paritipra, wadakkancheri, Thrissur district in North Kerala. Apart from Thrissur Palakkad is also has my more pooram and thalappoli festivals. The temple is dedicated to the powerful goddess Kali. The festival is held annually in the Malayalam month of Kumbham or in February/March. The party lasts eight days. The elephant procession is the main attraction day and night. The day of Puram is celebrated on the eighth and final day; Apart from Panchavadyam and Pandi Melam, there are twenty-one elephants adorned with beautiful ornaments.

These elephants are traditionally decorated on the ground with tethered popes, colorful umbrellas, animated venjamaras and alavatas. One of the best speciality of this uthralikkavu pooram is vedikettu ( FIreworks)

Temple exhibits and folk art offer magical performances to the audience on the cultural journey associated with the festival. In the evening, colorful events, rituals and folk dance shows attract everyone's attention. The glow of traditional temple lamps known as Theevatis creates a magnificent sight. The festivities conclude with a magnificent Puram night race on the last day, the highlight of the festival. Performances and celebrations will continue until the early hours of the morning and will end with a spectacular fireworks display.

Thrissur Pooram fireworks emphasize colors while Utralikav fireworks emphasize sound. Uttaralikav Pooram is run by 3 locals from Wadakancherry, Enkekad, and Kumaranalur. Apart from firecrackers, Poram also has panchavadyam and kudamattam. Utralikav Pooram is performed in the month of Kumbh. The temple is located below street level in the middle of the lot.
